How to install a CACert certificate

Here are the steps for securing connections to your website using Note that we do not recommend using this for securing the customer facing side of your website. Using CACert certificates is appropriate for internal use (e.g. checking email). End users visiting your website will see an error saying that the certificated is untrusted.


1. Request an additional IP address (Rs. 200 per month):
2. Request SSL functionality:


1. Click on SSL/TLS under Security
2. Click on Generate, view, or delete SSL certificate signing requests.
3. Enter appropriate information in the form and click Generate.
4. Copy the CSR that was generated and save in a TEXT file (e.g. using Notepad in Windows).


1. Create an account
2. Under Domains --> Add
3. Add domain name and click I own or am authorized to control this domain
4. Select the email address that controls the domain and you have access to
5. Login to the email selected in step (4) and verify the "probe" email from Click on the link and verify domain ownership.
6. Click on Server Certificates --> New
7. Enter the CSR from step (4) of part I above
8. Accept Agreement and click Submit
9. Copy the Server Certificate and save in a TEXT file (e.g. using Notepad in Windows)


1. Click on SSL/TLS under Security
2. Click on Generate, view, upload, or delete SSL certificates.
3. Copy and paste the server certificate from Step (9) of part II above. Click Save Certificate.
4. Go back to the SSL/TLS section of cPanel
5. Select Manage SSL sites.
6. Select your domain name from the dropdown list. Click on Autofill by Domain.
7. Finally, click Install Certificate
